Leeds reportedly keen on signing two quality foreign forwards before transfer deadline

According to Radio Yorkshire journalist Joe Rawson, Leeds United are keen on landing either or both of Hamburg’s Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Malmo’s Pawel Cibick, with the striking duo of Middlesbrough’s Rudy Gestede and Preston North End’s Jordan Hugill just too expensive.

Rawson went ahead to claim the value of the foreign market looks better for the Whites, which is somewhat true considering they just brought in Jay Roy Grot from Nijmegen.

Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen still wants to replace Chris Wood’s goals, and the aforementioned overseas-based duo seem quality, yet very affordable options for the big job.

Sky Sports have also confirmed Leeds huge interest in Lasogga, but a season-long loan deal is being mulled over for the Hamburg striker instead.

The German 25-year-old forward has 30 goals in 107 appearances to his name for the Bundesliga club since joining from Hertha Berlin in 2013.

While Cibick is also a fine option, Lasogga’s physicality makes him a more suitable signing.

Either of the striking targets could become United’s 13th signing of the summer window as the mission to build a new-look squad at Elland Road will continue until transfer deadline day.
