Aston Villa reportedly battle with Leeds to sign German striker

According to reports, Leeds United are competing with Aston Villa in the race to sign Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga before the end of the transfer window.

Lasogga appears to be surplus to requirements with his club, having failed to make an appearance this season and it appears that Leeds are favorites to sign him.

The Whites need to find a replacement for Chris Wood, who recently left the club to join Premier League club Burnley.

However Villa are also interested and may be helped by additions in attack considering that Jonathan Kodjia is currently out of action through injury.

Villa do have the likes of Scott Hogan and Gabriel Agbonlahor as options in attack while Jonathan Kodjia continues to recover from injury and it is unlikely that they will put as much effort into signing the player as the Whites.

Therefore, it is very likely that Lasogga will soon arrive at Elland Road.
