According to reports, Newcastle have been offered the opportunity to sign defender Cristian Ramirez from Russian side Krasnodar.
The Magpies need to desperately add a new defensive reinforcement to their side given that Paul Dummett is set to be out of action until November.
Ramirez has ten caps for the Ecuador national team and has played for Krasnador in the Europa League this summer.
Though Ramirez is untested in the Premier League, he does have international experience under his belt and is unlikely to command a heavy price tag. He could thus prove to be a worthwhile signing.
The Tyneside club are in desperate need of a new full-back and there is a high chance that a move could materialize within the next few days.
Ramirez is also likely to be keen on a move given the fact that it will allow him the opportunity to play in the Premier League.
