Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has claimed that there is confidence in his club’s dressing room, despite the absence of Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona who are said to be viewing him as a replacement for Neymar.
The Brazilian international Coutinho is said to have handed in a transfer request to the Merseyside club and it looks like he is trying to force through a move as he has yet to appear for the club this season. With or without Coutinho, Henderson feels that his side have enough talent to win games and perform well.
When asked if it is hard to keep the Liverpool dressing room controlled as a result of the Coutinho situation, Henderson said, “No, not really. As players and professionals you expect things to happen, especially when transfer windows are open and stuff like that. That’s the nature of football at times and you have got to get on with it.
“As players, you focus on what’s important – that’s playing football and doing your job. And I have felt that we have done that brilliantly over the last few weeks. We need to carry that on.”
