Chivas vs Queretaro Match Preview
Chivas has been the most disappointing team in the Liga MX Apertura 2017 currently in last place with only four points. Los Rojiblancos tied 1-1 against Santos Laguna last Wednesday for their fourth draw in this competition and displayed a lackluster style of play, staying back and trying to defend a slim 1-0 lead. Matias Almeyda has now served his two-game ban and will be back on the sidelines for this match to try and get his team back on track.
No player has really stood out for El Rebano Sagrado with players like Rodolfo Pizarro and Orbelin Pineda off to very slow starts. Angel Zaldivar scored the goal that gave Chivas the point out of the game against Santos, which was his second of the season. This is a game that Guadalajara should win especially playing at home but the current form of the team does not guarantee a favorable result.
Queretaro is off to a much better start than Chivas of Guadalajara currently with eight points but has still looked unimpressive in the initial stages of this tournament. Los Gallos Blancos are coming off a disastrous 3-1 loss against Club Tijuana in week 6 of the competition and have now not won in two consecutive Liga MX games.
One of the biggest problems for Jaime Lozano has been finding a consistent goal scorer rotating between Camilo Sanvezzo, Emmanuel Villa and Everaldo Stum in the striker role. The defense has also been very inconsistent with goalkeeper Tiago Volpi working overtime in between the sticks. The game should be an intense and entertaining with both teams struggling and needing the three points from the game.
