According to reports, Chelsea are planning to hold talks with Everton over signing Ross Barkley in a bid to usurp Tottenham to the England internationals signature.
The 23-year-old Barkley is on sale after having turned down the opportunity to sign a new contract at Goodison Park.
Though Spurs are the favorites to land Barkley, the Blues are still in the race and could have a good opportunity this weekend following their match against the Toffees.
The Merseyside clubs owner Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright both live in London and they will have a good opportunity to open talks with the London giants this weekend.
Everton are demanding £20 million plus £8 million in add on’s for Barkley, who is set to be out of action for three months due to torn hamstring.
This is proving to be a hindrance to negotiations with Spurs who have one of the most difficult negotiators in Daniel Levy as chairperson.
