Leeds reportedly willing to let out-of-favour midfielder go as contract terminations continue

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are ready to terminate the contract of outcast midfielder Toumani Diagouraga, with both parties nursing a mutual interest as to that effect.

French forward Souleymane Doukara was allowed to leave for Osmanlispor for free following a similar arrangement.

Former skipper Liam Bridcutt was also released and sold to Nottingham Forest for around £1million earlier during the week as manager Thomas Christiansen continues to trim his squad into desired shape ahead of summer transfer deadline day.

Diagouraga has struggled to force himself into first-team reckoning since arriving Elland Road from Brentford January 2016, and despite managing to make 17 league appearances under former boss Steve Evans, he spent the following season on loan at Ipswich Town.

The French midfielder has a year left on his current contract, but isn’t part of Christiansen’s plans going forward and is without a squad number for the current season.

The former Watford player is keen on remaining in the English League, and having received no offers for him as at yet, letting the £575,000 man become a free agent is best solution all round.
