Leeds reportedly could make Premier League giants’ utility youngster 14th summer signing

According to Goal, Leeds United have entered talks with Arsenal over a season-long loan deal for centre-back cum defensive midfielder Krystian Bielik.

The Poland under-19 international spent the latter half of last season impressing on loan at Birmingham City, and is expected to continue his development into the Gunners first team by going on another temporary exit.

It’s been a very busy transfer market for Leeds thus far, and a 14th summer signing in Bielik could be secured.

The Whites aren’t alone in their wishes to land the talented Pole, though, as Nottingham Forest, Norwich and Eintracht Frankfurt have also been linked with an interest.

There are two sides to the coin should Leeds successfully land Bielik.

While he would without a doubt provide quality cover for 2 departments despite his little experience, that he’s not guaranteed a spot in manager Thomas Christiansen’s XI could hinder his growth – the very main reason Arsenal are sending him out on loan.

Due to the latter, Bielik’s representatives and his parent club could decide he’s better off elsewhere.

However, should the strong, tough-tackling and precise-passing tall 19-year-old move to Elland Road, he would be providing Leeds with a 2-in-1 option off the bench and in case of suspensions and injuries.

The defensive midfield quartet of Kalvin Phillips, Eunan O’Kane, Ronaldo Vieira and Mateusz Klich and centre-back four of Pontus Jansson, Liam Cooper, Matthew Pennington and Luke Ayling definitely could do with yet another competition, and Bielik can be a capable one.
