Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has dismissed reports suggesting that he could be set to succeed Slaven Bilic as manager of West Ham. Bilic’s job is under scrutiny following the Hammers disappointing start to the Premier League season.
The East London club started off the season with a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United and followed that up with a 3-2 defeat against Southampton last weekend.
At the same time, there has also been speculation suggesting that Benitez could be set to leave the Magpies as he is frustrated by the lack of capital given to him by the club’s board to recruit new players.
The Magpies similarly have started off the season on a bad note as they have tasted defeat at the hands of Tottenham and Huddersfield Town.
However speaking ahead of United’s Carabao Cup encounter against Nottingham Forest, Benitez denied that there have been any talks and when he was asked about the rumours, he said, “I know nothing.”
