Sunderland boss provides key update regarding Snodgrass chase

Sunderland manager Simon Grayson has revealed that he cannot to sign West Ham outcast Robert Snodgrass on a permanent deal, meaning that only a loan deal is possible.

Considering that West Ham are looking to sell the 29-year-old permanently, this will make the Black Cats a less likely destination.

Snodgrass was brought to the Hammers in January last season in order to add creativity to the team following the departure of Dimitri Payet.

He however failed to live up to expectations and failed to find the back of the net from 15 Premier League games for the team.

Having worked together at Leeds, Grayson would certainly love to have Snodgrass as a member of his squad.

He did however confirm that a sale will not happen and said, “I can you tell you now we won’t be buying Robert Snodgrass because of the fee and the wages that come with it.

“The only way we would get Robert Snodgrass is a loan deal or something like that. There won’t be too many clubs who can afford him in the Championship and if they do then they have some serious money behind him.”
