Leeds United chief makes reassuring admission following Wood sale

Leeds United club owner Andrea Radrizzani has stated that the £15 million which the club gained through the sale of Chris Wood to Burnley will be used to bolster the squad.

The New Zealand international Wood joined Burnley on Monday in a deal which has broken the top flight club’s transfer record.

Considering that Wood was the Whites top scorer for the past two seasons and was the Championships top scoring player last season with 27 goals, the 25-year-old will not be an easy player to replace.

Radrizzani has now  promised that the money generated from the sale will be used to bolster the squad and said, “Supporters can rest assured that monies generated from the sale of Chris Wood will be reinvested into adding to the 12 signings we have made already.”

Radrizzani also revealed that the club had been hoping for Wood to stay but that it was the player himself who decided on the move after turning down the offer of a new contract.
