West Ham reportedly in 3-way race for £12million-rated striker who could replace Carroll

West Ham are after £12million-rated Lorient forward Abdul Majeed Waris, but they have fellow Premier League sides Bromwich Albion and Burnley rivalling them for the signature of the 25-year-old, the Daily Mail reports.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic wants to return to top 8 this term after seeing his side fail to build up on their 7th place finish of 2015-16 last season.

The Croatian is keen on equipping his side with more attacking firepower, and with the likes of Andy Carroll and Sofiane Feghouli linked with exits, Waris could prove to be a quality and more reliable replacement.

The Ghana international scored 19 goals in 51 Ligue 1 appearances for Lorient before they dropped down to Ligue 2 at the end of last season.

Waris’ pace and power are indicators that he wouldn’t have a problem adapting to English football on time, and his versatility is an advantage as he can also play on the flanks.

West Ham have already added Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez to their attack this summer, and landing Waris will further equip Bilic with lots of quality goal-threats to beckon up at will.
