With the news of the impending transfer of striker Chris Wood to Premier League club Burnley, it looks as if there will be some space to be filled at Elland Road up front. And they are now being called favorites to land a striker currently in the Premier League.
According to Sky Bet, the Huddersfield Town striker Nahki Wells is now at 7/1 to sign for the Whites.
Wells, who joined a good campaign in the Championship last term, appears to not be among the core group that David Wagner seeks to use in the BPL this term.
As a result, Wells is being linked with a return to the Championship via a number of clubs. Wells could fit in very well at United, but it would also cause more competition for places.
Wells is a much different player than Wood, but he does seem to be a better fit for their new system and style.
So the deal is possible to happen, but this one doesn’t look all that probable as Leeds are more likely to look outside of England, as they have done for most of this window.
