The rumors about the status of Chris Wood Leeds United prolific striker are heating up, and the latest one is that Burnley will sign this player for £15 million plus other add-ons.
However, Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the former midfielder of the Peacocks David Prutton is strongly opposing this idea saying that Leeds United will have a trouble of replacing the New Zealand International who is their most valuable player.
“It’s the old question of how do you actually replace him?” stated Prutton.
During the previous season, Chris Wood was the top goal scorer of the Sky Bet Championship with 27 goals. He became the vital part of the Peacocks and the player who had been making a difference on the pitch.
According to Prutton, who retired three years ago, selling Wood would negatively impact the team. In his stay at Elland Road from 2007 until 2010 David Prutton played 67 matches and scored four goals. For that short period, he became one of the fans favorites and still today that hasn’t changed.
