Leeds reportedly identify prolific 95-Championship-goal striker to replace Woods

Leeds United striker Chris Wood is a signature away from completing a move to Premier League side Burnley as a £15million offer has been accepted for his services.

The Peacocks have already begun earnest plans to have a like-for-like replacement arrive as soon as possible, and according to the Daily Mail, Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes could be their man.

Given his pedigree, the 27-year-old Scotland international appears to be rightly fit for the hard job.

Rhodes has a decade experience shuffling between 5 English divisions, with 7 years of those coming in the Championship.

The striker has played for Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough, netting 95 times in 207 Championship outings.

Although he hasn’t been as prolific as Wood of late, Rhodes however also boasts of an impressive work rate and finishing.

That he’s also dangerous in headed attempts and holding on to the ball are a plus.

Replacing the wantaway New Zealand international won’t be the easiest of jobs for manager Thomas Christiansen, but in Rhodes, he could have a striker capable of firing Leeds to the Premier League.
