Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has suggested that his club will aim to sign a new striker before the end of the summer.
It has emerged that Chris Wood is set to move to Burnley and considering that the New Zealand international was the club’s top goal scorer last season, they will need to bring in quality reinforcements up front in order to ensure that there is no shortage of goals for the new season.
Though the Whites had to play without Wood during their match against Sunderland on Saturday, they still manage to claim a 2-0 victory through goals from Samuel Saiz and Stuart Dallas.
When asked if his club will consider buying a new striker, Christiansen said, “Well, of course, now the situation is to find one, but Victor and the board is making good work to try to find the best.”
Considering that he notched 27 Championship goals last season, Leeds will have to think carefully about who they recruit to replace the 25-year-old Wood.
