Jurgen Klopp makes promising admission about Coutinho’s future

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has maintained that he expects Philippe Coutinho to remain a part of his squad this season but admitted that the situation is not easy. The 25-year-old Coutinho is a target of Barcelona, who view him as a replacement for Neymar.

The Brazilian international Coutinho reportedly wants the move in order to play for the club which many South American football legends have played for during their careers.

Barcelona are trying hard to sign Coutinho and have made three bids, the latest of which is believed to be in excess of £100 million. Liverpool however are not prepared to sell easily, especially considering that Coutinho is a key part of their team.

The player did not play once again this weekend during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace after suffering a minor back injury earlier during the month.

Klopp has maintained that he will not part ways with his prized asset and said, “The situation is like it is, and it has not changed, that’s all I know.

“When there is no other decision possible – on the 31st of August – then we have to think about everything new. I don’t think that it makes sense to think too much ahead, what can happen and when.”
