Gylfi Sigurdsson has revealed that he is not fazed by the £45 million price tag that Everton paid to lure him from Swansea.
The Iceland international become the Toffees record signing surpassing the fee which the club paid to sign Michael Keane by almost £20 million.
Sigurdsson will be now expected to help the Merseyside club challenge for a place in the top six of the Premier League this season as well as add creativity to the side.
Despite the huge price tag, the midfielder said about the move, “Personally, it is not up to me how much the club has paid for me or how much was paid. I put the pressure on myself to play well for the team, create and score goals for the club. That’s all I need and that’s the only thing I focus on.”
Ronald Koeman’s club have spent over £100 million this summer bringing in the likes of Sigurdsson, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez, Davy Klaassen, Cuco Martina and Wayne Rooney.
