Aston Villa reportedly plotting ambitious swoop for attacker

According to reports, Aston Villa are considering a loan approach for West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass.

Snodgrass has apparently been informed by the Hammers that he is surplus to requirements at the club whom he joined just eight months ago from Hull City.

Snodgrass was expected to add creativity to the East London club following the departure of the controversial Dimitri Payet in January, however he failed to live up to expectations and did not manage to find the back of the net from 15 Premier League appearances.

Though Villa cannot afford a transfer fee, they are keen on a loan deal for Snodgrass. Bruce tried to sign the Scotland international during the last transfer window but could not compete as there was competition from the Premier League.

The Villains have started the new season on a bad note by taking just one point from their first three Championship games and it will be good for them if they manage to bolster their side.
