According to West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, player power in modern day football has become a problem.
The Croatian has expressed sympathy with Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp, who are having problems with Diego Costa and Philippe Coutinho respectively after he experienced something similar with DimitriPayet during the January transfer window.
Payet refused to play for the East London club in January in order to force a move to Marseille and he eventually got his move. Similarly, Coutinho and Costa are both currently trying to force their clubs to sell them.
Whilst speaking about the likes of Coutinho and Costa, Bilic said, “The power is too much on the side of the players and their agents.
“It’s hard for the managers. Make no mistake, we are sometimes on this side and sometimes the other side. But I never, ever advise or ask the players to stop training. That’s low. That is low. It should not be like that.
“The most important thing is that you are on the same line as your board, then you are strong.”
