Despite being just one match into the Premier League season, Newcastle United look to be on the edge already.
A lot of that is due to the transfer window, and the lack of movement that has come. We’ve seen how Rafael Benitez has left clubs before due to a lack of spending, and that is threatening to occur again.
Speaking today ahead of his side’s trip to fellow promoted side Huddersfield Town on Saturday in a press conference (via Sky Sports), Benitez said “obviously we have a lot of players we have to move out if we want to move [players] in.”
This shows that the Magpies are down on funds, which is no shock here. The problem is that he has been promised more funds than what has been spent so far, and we all know how Rafa has acted in the past with this.
The question now is who can Newcastle seriously sell for good money that is NOT key player that they’d want to keep around? That is the question that needs answering, but it looks like a quite difficult one to do so!
