Former Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given believes that Liverpool will have a plan in place for when Philippe Coutinho ends up leaving the club.
The Brazilian Coutinho has been strongly linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona who reportedly view him as a replacement for Neymar.
The 25-year-old Coutinho has reportedly handed in a transfer request to the Reds and informed manager Jurgen Klopp that he will not play for the club again even if it means costing him a place in the Brazil squad for the 2018 World Cup.
Given however believes that the Merseyside club will have a plan in place for when Coutinho leaves and said, “They’ll have a lot of money to spend (if Coutinho leaves) and other clubs will know that as well.
“I’m sure behind-the-scenes Liverpool will have a Plan B. They’ll have a plan in place, knowing roughly how much they are going to get if they sell Coutinho. They’ll be targeting players – if not in in this country but in Europe and across the world”
