Some fans of Aston Villa appear to be calling for John Terry to be named manager of the club.

The 36-year-old Terry signed a one year contract with the Villains this summer would rumors suggesting that he may be considering a career in management after hanging up his boots.

The Villains have made a poor start to the new season, picking up just one point from their first three games. These poor performances have come in spite of the fact that they were considered as one of the favorites to challenge for promotion during pre-season.

Following the Villains 3-0 defeat against Cardiff on Tuesday night, Bruce insisted that he needs more time at the club, saying, “There’s still obviously a load of work to be done but judge us when all the players are fit and ready and at the minute we are having a tough time.

“We have had a tough start – Newcastle (United) had a tough start last year – we have to batten down the hatches, still believe in what we are doing and get that win which will obviously give everyone a lift.”

Some fans of the club have suggested that Bruce should be sacked and Terry should be appointed as manager.

One fan, Tom Adams wrote on Twitter, “I give it three weeks before John Terry is player-manager of Aston Villa”, while James Moriarity said, “John Terry as Villa player manager by the end of the week, just you wait.”
