Legend reveals Celtic will complete major transfer

Football pundit Chris Sutton has expressed his belief that Patrick Roberts will end up signing for Celtic.

The young sensation left the Hoops to return to parent club Manchester City at the end of last season.

He enjoyed a successful 18 month loan spell with the Scottish giants during which he won over the hearts of many fans and helped the club win an unbeaten domestic treble last season.

Recent reports had suggested that Roberts will not come to Celtic this season as City would prefer him loaning him to a team from one of the elite Leagues of European football, with Southampton as well as clubs from the French Ligue 1 said to be interested in signing him for the new season.

However, Sutton has now stated he expects the player to join Celtic saying, “Huge announcement. I’ve had it on good authority that Patrick Roberts WILL sign for Celtic. 100 per cent the player wants to come, it’s just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.”

Should Roberts stay at City, his first team opportunities may be limited so it may be a good option for the Citizens to once again send him out on loan.
