According to reports, Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has made an ambitious inquiry about signing Newcastle target Jack Wilshere.
The England international has just one year left on his current contract with the Gunners and as his first team prospects look slim at the Emirates for this season, it is likely that he will be sold before the transfer deadline day.
Wilshere was once heralded as one of the up and coming talents in English football but has sadly seen his progress hampered by injury problems. He spent last season on loan with Bournemouth but was not exactly in the best of form.
The Magpies will definitely be the preferred option of the 25 year old Wilshere considering that he will realistically be needing to play as much as possible in the Premier League if he wishes to gain a call up to the England national team for the 2018 World Cup.
