Hoffenheim is currently in tremendous form, undefeated in its last five games in all competitions, gearing up for this playoff game and the start of the Bundesliga season this weekend. The German team has had a solid transfer window but did lose one of its best players, Niklas Sule to Bayern Munich. Former West Ham defender Havard Nordtveit was brought in to fill that void, one of the other notable signings this summer was a loan deal for former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry.
Manager Julian Nagelsmann does count with a very solid squad, Liverpool club captain Jordan Henderson did highlight that the dangerous players to watch are Sandro Wagner and Andrej Kramarić. The game should be a huge test for this Hoffenheim team but it is a game that can be won, especially playing at home.
Liverpool is also undefeated in its last five games in all competitions but is coming from a very disappointing 3-3 draw against Hull City to start the new Premier League season. The Reds will inclusively be without a few key players for the game due to injury as Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge, Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana are all set to miss the game. The front three comprised of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and former Hoffenheim man Roberto Firmino will have a lot of weight on their shoulders to carry the team.
The three forwards did all score in the game against Hull and are expected for another influential performance in this game. The game should be a very intense and hard-fought encounter with Liverpool having massive pressure to obtain the favorable result.
