Everton carry out heartwarming act for homeless teenagers

In rather heartwarming news, Everton are set to buy a house for homeless teenagers after raising £230,000 through their community scheme.

The Toffees launched their ‘Home is Where the Heart Is’ campaign last November with the aim of buying a house close to Goodison Park that would be able to support people from underprivileged positions who are between the ages of 16-23.

In addition to shelter, this initiative will also aim to provide the youth with health and well-being support.  Last season, the Toffees under-23 squad, staff of the club and fans slept in sleeping bags in order to raise money for the cause.

The Merseyside clubs under-23 manager David Unsworth said about the project, “I would like to say a massive thank you to everybody from the committee, to all the fans and the U23 players who have taken part in our amazing campaign.

“To finally reach the target is an amazing achievement and to have done it as quickly as we have is just fabulous.”
