Les Ferdinand has given his honest opinion of Newcastle and Tottenham at the current moment.
The former England international feels that Spurs fans need not worry, despite the club’s lack of activity this summer but he does feel that the activity of Newcastle is concerning.
The two sides played each other this Sunday with Spurs winning 2-0 through goals from Dele Alli and Ben Davies.
Spurs have yet to make a squad addition this summer and are the only English top flight club that are yet ad add players to their roster.
Ferdinand, who played for both clubs during his career, however feels that Spurs fans need not worry about the quality of the squad.
He said, “Spurs are in a strong position because of the team they’ve got. They don’t need to bring someone in just for the sake of it. New signings must add to what they’ve already got.”
He does believe that Newcastle can benefit by bringing in new faces though and said, “Newcastle are a team who’ve come up from the Championship and their supporters and manager are looking for them to spend money for the Premier League, so I can understand Rafa’s frustration.
“You need that bit of quality in the Premier League but Rafa will have them well-drilled and organised. Everyone will know their job.”
