Tottenham reportedly will only listen to offers over £100million for Barcelona target

According to the Independent, Barcelona are ready to make a move for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, as Liverpool’s hard stance on not listening to offers for Philippe Coutinho is making them consider a plan B.

Eriksen is contracted to Spurs until 2020 after signing a contract extension last summer, but with Barca willing to pull out all the stops in order to reinforce their midfield, the North London club could have a big battle on their hands.

As per the reports, it’s believed an offer around £100million could be enough into convincing Tottenham to sanction a sale for the 25-year-old Denmark international.

Eriksen has been a regular name mentioned around the Camp Nou corridors in recent transfer windows due to his playmaking abilities, and with Danny Rose’s latest revelations likely to spark Spurs players into demanding for a better wage structure, the former Ajax player could be lured away.

The Dane was in fine form last term, scoring eight goals and assisting 15, and there is a belief he’s not even at his peak yet.

Should a Coutinho move fall through, Barcelona will go to any measures to secure Eriksen’s arrival, and with an untouched £198million lying in their transfer coffers, splashing the cash is their least problem.
