This Thursday, August 10 Club America manager Miguel Herrera announced the starting lineup that he would use in Friday’s game against Atlas for Jornada 4 of the Apertura 2017. The game should be one of the best this week and should prove to be a challenging task for Club America at the Estadio Jalisco.
“El Piojo” is set to repeat the same starting 11 that he used in the Jornada 2 match up against Pachuca. Herrera used a 4-4-2 formation in that game to start the encounter but could opt for a 4-3-3 or even a 5-3-2 formation. Agustin Marchesin will be in between the sticks with Miguel Samudio, Bruno Valdez, Pablo an Paul Aguilar making up the defense. The two players in the center of the midfield are set to be Edson Alvarez and Guido Rodriguez with Cecilio Dominguez and Carlos Darwin Quintero out on the wings. Finally, the strike partnership will feature Oribe Peralta and Silvio Romero to make for a very formidable starting lineup.
Las Aguilas have faced some tough opponents like Pachuca and Pumas UNAM but this game against Atlas may be the Mexico City team’s toughest test of the season, so far. Miguel Herrera does have the team to come home with the three points, especially with the squad in tremendous form.
Cecilio Dominguez has been on fire with three goals in the tournament so far, Oribe Peralta scored against Pumas UNAM and Silvio Romero netted himself a brace against Potros UAEM in the Copa MX earlier this week. Carlos Darwin Quintero is also in tremendous form, playing up to the standard of his nickname ‘el cientifico del gol’. This starting lineup should come away with some points from the encounter but it should still prove to be a tremendous task for Miguel Herrera’s side
