Liverpool reportedly set £27million asking price for star midfielder

As per Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool will demand around £27million from Juventus for the signature of German midfielder Emre Can should both club come to an agreement over a transfer.

The 23-year-old has emerged as Juve’s number 1 priority in central midfield as manager Massimiliano Allegri looks to bring in reinforcements to his squad ahead as next campaign.

Can, despite his versatility, has struggled to hold down a starting berth at Liverpool since arriving in 2014, and he has clearly cut a frustrated figure at Merseyside.

The Confederations Cup winner has refused to extend his contract beyond 2018, and looks increasingly likely to say goodbye this summer.

The current situation at Anfield could see manager Jurgen Klopp block a move, though.

Liverpool are struggling to keep Philippe Coutinho off Barcelona’s reach, midfield target and RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita isn’t switching clubs, while Adam Lallana is set to spend at least  three months on the sidelines due to a thigh injury.

The Reds could be left with just two first-team midfielders by the end of the month available for selection, and it won’t be a good way to start the campaign.

As far as Emre Can’s proposed exit plans go, a lot of twists and turns would definitely keep coming up.
