Liverpool reportedly enter late race for South American goalmachine

Globo Esporte claims Liverpool have shown interest in Gremio attacking midfielder and forward Luan Guilherme.

The Reds are late to the party with Spartak Moscow hoping to seal a switch for the 24-year-old soon having made an £18million bid.

However, there has been breakdown in talks between all parties involved, and Liverpool are hoping to pip the Russians to the Brazil international.

The Merseysiders sent scouts to watch Luan in action for Gremio in Wednesday’s 2-1 Copa Libertadores win over Godoy Cruz, and it’s likely a move is made after he impressed.

Luan has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while now, and some reports in May even claimed a £26million offer from them had been accepted by the Brazilian outfit for their man.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on boosting his attacking ranks, and Luan would be a perfect addition.

Apart from being able to play as a main striker or right behind one, the Olympic Gold Medalist can also play out wide.

The ‘new Ronaldinho’ has an eye for goals, is fast, boasts of excellent movement across the attacking line, and often evades his marker(s) with eye-catching moves.

He definitely fits the bill for Liverpool, but Luan is in high demand, and if they do desire his services, a swift swoop on him must be made as soon as possible.
