According to reports, Chelsea are threatening Tottenham in the race to sign Ross Barkley from Everton.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already confirmed that Barkley will be sold this summer after the player turned down the opportunity to sign a new contract at Goodison Park.
Spurs have been linked with a move for the England international for a long time though Chairman Daniel Levy is not willing to meet the valuation of the Merseyside club.
At the beginning of the summer, the Toffees had been demanding £50 million but that figure has since been reduced to around £35 million.
With Spurs only willing to fork out £25 million, Chelsea could now pose a serious threat.
The Blues are said to be seriously considering signing Barkley and will be able to offer the 23-year-old a better contract than the Lillywhites as well as the opportunity to play for a club that can challenge for major silverware on a regular basis.
