Tottenham legend gives reason why signing £35 million-target would make perfect sense

According to ex-Tottenham and 2-time FA Cup winner Graham Roberts, 58, signing Everton’s Ross Barkley would be perfect for the club.

The Spurs legend replied a twitter user on Monday when asked where the main position of the 23-year-old would be if signed, “Mousa (Dembele) always misses a lot so enough games to go round but @RBarkley20 (Ross Barkley) fan perfect for spurs”

Tottenham are interested in the services of the England international midfielder, but aren’t keen to pay Everton’s asking prices.

The Goodison Park outfit once held out for £50million on their man, but have since brought it down to £35million as they want to see his back this summer.

With the likes of Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Mousa Dembele, and Victor Wanyama midfield options to manager Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs arguably boast of the best midfield in the Premier League, and Barkley’s addition will only make it better.

With Wanyama disciplinary issues; which make him prone to match bans, and Dembele’s ageing legs, Barkley would definitely be more than a squad player at the club if a move is made for him.
