Tottenham Hotspur urged to sign superstar by rivals’ icon

Gareth Bale

Former Arsenal star Ian Wright has encouraged Tottenham to re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid in order to take them to the next level.

The North London club have failed to win a major trophy for the past nine years though they have narrowly missed out on the Premiership title for the past two successive seasons.

Speculation has emerged suggesting that Bale could be sold this summer as Madrid look to gain funds as they aim to buy Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe and he has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Manchester City recently.

Wright has now suggested though that Spurs should make a move on the Wales international, saying, “If I’m Daniel Levy, I’m doing everything I can to see if I can get him back to Spurs.

“You say it’s not going to happen, but they’ve not signed anyone. They could speak to Gareth Bale and say ‘why don’t you come here and take us to the next level.

“You can sell that to Gareth Bale. If they made one signing and it’s Gareth Bale… would people still talk about Spurs making no signings?”

It remains to be seen if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, known to be a tough negotiator, will be willing to fork out the funds that will be required to buy Bale.
