Everton face a huge blow in their hopes of signing top striker target

Giroud

According to reports, Olivier Giroud has revealed that he will honor his contract with Arsenal and remain with the club for at least another two years, in light of speculation linking him with moves to a number of clubs including West Ham and Everton.

The 30-year-old Giroud only started 11 Premier League games last season and could be set to slip further down the pecking order at the Gunners following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.

Giroud will know that he needs to be playing regular first team football if he wants to make the French squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Hence a move was believed to be on the cards, however it now appears that he will remain at Arsenal and he said following his teams Community Shield triumph over Chelsea this weekend, “I’m an Arsenal player. I have a contract of two years still.”

Everton who are looking to sign a new striker may now need to look elsewhere.
