Tottenham’s La Liga midfield target reportedly wanted by Serie A heavyweights

Kovacic

According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid midfielder and Tottenham-target Mateo Kovacic is wanted by Juventus.

Blaise Matuidi, Steven N’Zonzi, Emre Can, and André Gomes are also being monitored by the Turin outfit.

Kovacic, 23, has 4 years left on his current contract, but could be open to the possibility of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu as he’s not a guaranteed starter.

Recent midfield recruitments by the La Liga giants also mean he won’t be enjoying a lot of playing minutes next term.

Reportedly rated £22million, Spurs are said to be interested in landing the Croatia international, while AC Milan and Napoli are also keeping tabs.

The north Londoners are taking their time this summer, and are yet to make any signing. Kovacic’s qualities, though, suggest he can further help strengthen Spurs midfield.

The former Inter Milan player is great both as a defensive midfielder and a centre midfielder, and has enough in him to challenge for a spot in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s XI.

However, with Juve firming up interest, getting Kovacic won’t come any easy for Spurs, but he could make a quality addition if signed.
