Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has backed the Reds to make more signings this summer and finish above Manchester United during the upcoming Premier League.
Whilst he was asked who would finish in the top four during the upcoming season, Gerrard revealed that he feels his former club will finish in one of the places though this does not necessarily mean that he feels that they will win the League.
The 37-year-old Gerrard believes that Liverpool will end up finishing second to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Gerrard said of his former club, “In pre-season, they have looked very strong and with three weeks to go in the window, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jurgen has got a couple of cards up his sleeve. He might bring a couple of big signings in.”
STEVEN GERRARD’S TOP FOUR PREDICTION
- Manchester City
- Liverpool
- Manchester United
- Chelsea
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will end up signing their main target for this summer, Virgil van Dijk. They may also need to replace Philippe Coutinho should he end up joining Barcelona and West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini has been suggested as a possible candidate.
