According to Sozcu, Galatasaray new man and former Everton target Badou N’Diaye has revealed why he snubbed a move to Goodison Park in order to join the Turkish giants.
Having struggled in his debut season in the Süper Lig, the 26-year-old claimed he wished to build upon the great campaign he had last term; his 2nd season, hence the move.
The exciting project of the Lions also played a huge role in convincing him.
Everton were strongly linked with the Senegal international in recent weeks, while West Ham and Newcastle also wished to prise him away.
However, N’Diaye decided to leave Osmanlispor for Gala in a £6.8million deal instead.
The midfielder scored 7 goals and registered 3 assists in 42 appearances for the Ankara-based outfit, and his work-rate and impressive strength caught the eyes of Toffees’ boss Ronald Koeman.
The Dutchman has already overseen a handful of signings this summer, but still wishes to complete 4 more deals, including one for his midfield.
Gareth Barry is being linked with a move away, and his exit could create a void hard to fill, while the future of James McCarthy can’t be ascertained.
N’Diaye, for all his strength, power and eye for creating goals would have been a great addition to Everton’s ranks if a move had been struck.
