Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is set for serious talks with the club’s owner Mike Ashley, according to the Daily Mirror.
Benitez was left in a deep state of frustration after seeing a £12 million bid for Stoke City playmaker Joselu turned down recently.
In addition, Benitez is also frustrated at Ashley’s and the club chief executive Lee Charnley’s decision to not enter the race to sign Crystal Palace attacker Andros Townsend this summer.
Benitez is keen to add the likes of Joselu and Townsend to his squad as he looks to make the team more competitive ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
He had tried to re-sign Townsend during the January transfer window but the club’s hierarchy also failed to agree to a move then.
Many have predicted that the frustrations that Benitez is currently having to endure will eventually lead him to leaving his position as manager.
As the Spaniard is one of the most well-known managers in world football, he will not be short of new clubs wanting to approach him.
