Everton reportedly considering a shock move for 26-year-old attacker

According to reports, Everton have been linked with a move for Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck.

The Toffees have been strongly linked with a move for Olivier Giroud as they aim to add another striker to their ranks following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, however should they fail to lure the Frenchman, they could turn their attention onto Welbeck.

It is difficult to see Gunners manager Arsene Wenger selling Welbeck especially as he will need cover should an injury happen to Alexandre Lacazette.

Welbeck arrived at the Emirates from Manchester United during the summer of 2014 for £16 million. Since then he has gone on to make 69 appearances in all competitions for the club and scored 17 goals in the process.

Welbeck will be aiming to impress with his performances during the upcoming season in order to try and win a place in the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.
