Klopp reportedly in constant touch with 26-goal £161million-rated target

As per L’Equipe, Liverpool cannot be ruled out of the race to clinch the signature of Monaco whizkid Kylian Mbappe yet, as the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has maintained close communication with the 18-year-old striker regarding agreeing an Anfield switch since May.

Amidst being linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, Mbappe, who bagged 26 strikes across all competitions last term, has told Monaco of his desire to move on according to reports.

Klopp is a huge admirer of the speedster, and is convinced his sets of skills are tailor-made for Liverpool’s style of play.

The Merseysiders currently boast of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane as their front-3, and adding a player like Mbappe will only further make them unplayable.

Getting hands on the French international sensation will come at a cost though, with Monaco having slapped an astronomical fee of £161million on his head.

As the German manager pointed out when weighing in with his opinion on Neymar’s £200million move to PSG, only a club like the French side and Manchester City can afford to pay such a fee.

So Liverpool aren’t expected to push their luck if Monaco hold firm to their asking price for Mbappe.
