Football pundit Charlie Nicholas has claimed that West Ham still need to add a new centre back to their side ahead of the new season.
The Hammers have brought in four quality players this summer namely Marko Arnautovic, Joe Hart, Javier Hernandez and Pablo Zabaleta as they look to improve upon their disappointing performances of the past season.
Nicholas however still feels that the East London club will need to strengthen at the back if they wish to improve. He said, “Hart is a big bonus.
“There were a lot of mistakes at the back and if he can get them organised then they’ll improve a lot, but I do think they need somebody else at the back, they can’t keep relying on James Collins to come in.”
It is believed that Hammers manager is not looking to make any new additions and will only do so should unforeseen events happen.
The Hammers finished in a disappointing eleventh position on the Premier League standings last season and will be working hard to try and improve their performances during the upcoming campaign.
