Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has suggested that Everton are not aggressive enough and added that, this lack of aggression could lead to them struggling against the bigger clubs in the Premier League during the upcoming season.
There are high expectations on the Toffees ahead of the new season after manager Ronald Koeman spent more than £100 million on revamping the side this summer.
As a result, the Merseyside club will be aiming for a top four finish this season and with the high profile names that they have on their side, they could stand a chance on paper of qualifying for Europe’s premier club competition. It does remain to be seen though whether the players will gel well together.
Nicholas however is not convinced fully by the Toffees and said, “They’re not as aggressive as they used to be, with the likes of Phil Jagielka and Gareth Barry really committed and aggressive.
“You don’t need kickers but they need to step up and be aggressive when they come up against the better sides.”
