According to reports, West Ham United are keen on signing Benfica attacker Raul Jimenez.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is said to be keen on the 26-year-old Jimenez and a partnership between him and fellow Mexican Javier Hernandez could work well.
The Hammers reportedly had scouts to watch Jimenez in action during the recent Emirates Cup. The player is a proven scorer at the highest level after managing several goals from six starts last term.
It however does not seem realistic that the Irons will be willing to fork out the £35 million that Benfica are demanding for the player.
Bilic has Hernandez, Maarko Arnautovic as well as Andy Carroll as striker options as well for the coming season, which seems sufficient for now, so it will be very surprising if the club do end up swooping for Jimenez.
The Hammers will be aiming to improve and possibly challenge for a place in the Europa League during the coming season.
