Sunderland veteran John O’Shea has said that his team-mates have moved on from the rant that Darron Gibson made about the team to a group of supporters.
In a video which was uploaded on social media, Gibson used strong language while claiming that several of his team-mates do not care about the club. The club have since revealed that he has apologized for his actions and that a disciplinary process is taking place.
Gibson had slated his team-mates following the Black Cats 5-0 defeat against Scottish giants Celtic. It is widely believed among some sections of English fans that Celtic would be barely competitive if they were playing in the Championship, which made the defeat even more humiliating for the Black Cats.
O’Shea told Sky Sports News: “As players we know we have to have that responsibility to make sure we do things properly.
“It was dealt with in-house and inside the dressing room and it has moved on. Those kind of things are kept within the dressing room. We are looking forward to the start of the new season.”
Many even now speculate that Simon Grayson’s team may have difficulty avoiding relegation from the Championship during the upcoming season. It remains to be seen how Sunderland will fare during the upcoming Championship season.
