Former England hero Paul Ince has said that James Milner is Liverpool’s best player which is against the popular opinion that Philippe Coutinho is currently the main man for the Reds.
The 25-year-old Coutinho has been strongly linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona over the recent weeks as the Catalan giants look to replace the influential Neymar.
Despite being a midfielder for the majority of his career, Milner managed to successfully play at left-back for the Reds last season.
Ince has now stated that he does not believe that Coutinho is the clubs best player and instead thinks that it is the former England international who is the star for the Reds.
He said, “For me, Milner is the best player in the whole team, forget about Coutinho, he’s the best. He can play in every position.”
Many fans would certainly disagree with Ince’s opinion and with Neymar set to soon link up with PSG, Jurgen Klopp’s side are likely going to have to work hard to keep their prized asset Coutinho.
