Everton handed blow as 69-Epl-goal target reportedly opts against a move

Giroud

As per French media Le 10 Sport, Arsenal striker and Everton target Olivier Giroud has intentions of remaining at the Emirates Stadium next season despite being widely expected to leave.

The arrival of Alexandre Lacazette will most likely see the France international play second fiddle to his compatriot, and Everton had him on top of their striking wishlist as an exit appeared to be on the cards.

Boss Ronald Koeman wanted to be certain of Arsenal’s stance on Giroud this week so as to know if he were to be available for a Goodison Park switch.

Apparently, the £25million-rated 29-year-old striker with 69 Premier League goals isn’t keen on moving elsewhere, and Koeman will have to consider the other names on his transfer list.

Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez are the Dutchman’s current options to lead the Toffees attack, but he still wishes to add a proven number 9 to the squad’s striking ranks.

There are roughly about 4 weeks left for the club to land another striker capable of stepping into Romelu Lukaku’s shoes.

While that appears to be enough time, Everton must act fast so as to get things in order as soon as possible and hit the ground running once the season kicks off.
