RB Leipzig are ready to end speculation regarding Naby Keita’s future at the German club with a new and improved contract, according to The Daily Express.
Among Jurgen Klopp’s top transfer priorities this summer is to sign Guinean national Naby Keita after the 22-year-old’s fantastic performances helped his club finish second in their debut Bundesliga campaign.
Liverpool have openly exhibited their interest in the midfielder launching bids worth £57 million and £66 million bids both of which have been rejected as Leipzig are not willing to part ways with the players.
Leipzig want to prove their ambitions as they look to keep their best players ahead of their inaugural Champions League campaign.
RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is “100 per cent” sure that Naby Keita will be playing his football at Red Bull Arena next season putting further doubt over Liverpool’s chances of signing the player.
The new contract will not only see a significant increase in wages but will also remove the £48 million release clause in Keita’s current contract.
