Everton dealt blow as 109-league-goal transfer target reportedly agrees to join Serie A giants

According to talkSPORT, Italian newspaper Gazzeta dello Sport reports that Everton have been dealt a huge blow in their aspiration of signing Fiorentina striker and Croatia international Nikola Kalinic, as he is now edging closer to sealing a move to AC Milan having agreed personal terms with them.

The 29-year-old had been on the Toffees’ radar since last summer, and his return of 15 Serie A goals in 32 games last season turned the rumours up a notch.

Kalinic was seen as the ideal replacement for Romelu Lukaku, but he won’t be lining up for Everton next season.

Milan have offered Fiorentina £20million for his services, but are expected to offer more as the club believe his transfer market value is a little higher than that.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman wants to add one more striker to his forwardline as early as possible, but he will now have to consider other options with Kalinic off the market.

With 109 league goals in 277 appearances for 6 clubs in the last 14 seasons, the experience and most recently-found prolific form of the Croatian would have made him a great signing for Everton, though.
